LBB Presents Annual ‘Tis the Season Concert

Jazz Violinist Zach Brock returns home to join the Lexington Brass Band on its annual holiday concert ’Tis the Season, Sunday, December 18, at 4:00 pm, Calvary Baptist Church. Zach Brock will be joined by Lexington’s outstanding jazz pianist, Raleigh Dailey, for an exciting series of arrangements and improvisations that will provide excellent contrast to the brass band’s array of holiday favorites.

2011-2012 Season Begins with Brass Fantasia

The Lexington Brass Band launches its 20th Anniversary Season with a dynamic concert entitled Brass Fantasia, on Sunday, November 6, at 4:00 pm, Calvary Baptist Church, 150 East High Street, Lexington, KY.

The band will present many facets of the ‘Fantastic’ in music, both in terms of virtuosity on display and in musical forms performed. For technical brilliance, two soloists of the band will be showcased. Dr. Raquel Rodriquez, professor of trumpet at Northern Kentucky University, will present Grand Fantasia: Rule Britannia (John Hartmann). Dr. Skip Gray, professor of low brass at the University of Kentucky, will perform Allen Vizzutti’s Fantasia for Solo Tuba, Brass and Percussion in a new transcription by the band’s conductor, Ronald Holz.

LBB Presents Nautical Brass

As the Lexington Brass Band finishes final preparations for their guest appearance in Toronto, Canada at the Hannaford Street Silver Band’s Festival of Brass, they will present their final concert of the season, NAUTICAL BRASS, on Sunday, March 27th.  The band will evoke the spirit of many waters—from oceans to rivers—in this engaging concert of descriptive music.
